As a surprise, I took Jenn to an NRA 1st Steps Pistol class today, conveniently right around the corner from where we live. We had gone trap shooting recently and Jennifer had purchased a Living Social deal at a local range for time on their shooting range, so why not treat her to some organized training.
It’s been a long time since I handled a pistol, and I’ve never attended a handgun-specific safety and training course, so this was new for me as well. I used to own a Glock 17 but last night I fired a Springfield XDM, a Berretta 9mm of some variety, a Glock 21, and a .22 revolver.
It was fun, and we learned a lot. More practice may be in the offing.
I’m glad you had a good time. Gedde is a wonderful instructor.
If you ever need anything, hit us up!
Dan
PS – “Why not?”
Dan: We will probably be back. I’ve still got 3/4 of a box of .45 to go through.
Fun times! Next time you come “home”, we’ll go out and throw some lead downrange.
I don’t think I can throw that far. Fifty feet is a long way for my arm.
Seriously, sounds good. It’s a date.
