Georgia Legislative Action on Monday and Tuesday

HB 918 – Prohibition from cooperation with the Fascist Authoritarian Federal Government. I may have injected just a bit of hyperbole into the title of this bill, but that’s essentially what it is. The bill directs all Georgian’s operating in an official capacity to not cooperate with any federal request under the recent National Defense Authorization which you may have read about in the news.

HR 1325 – Urge Congress to amend Communications Act to Permit Cellular Jammers in Prisons. It is what it says.

SB 395 – Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax Rates. This bill would allow SPLOST rates to be less than 1%, but not to exceed 1%. Previously, all SPLOSTS were 1 penny on the dollar, but now they could be 0.224 pennies.
